Subject Profile

R.O. Walters

R.O. Walters writes thrillers at the intersection of technology and human nature. His literary influences run from Michael Crichton's systems-level dread to Blake Crouch's relentless pacing to Chuck Palahniuk's willingness to make readers deeply uncomfortable — and he sees no reason not to combine all three.

A self-described technology enthusiast who has automated more of his home than his family would prefer, he brings a genuine fascination with how systems work — and how they fail — to his fiction. When he's not writing, he's traveling with his wife and two kids, walking the dog, or out in his fig orchard pretending that tending trees counts as research.

He lives in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Seventeen Seconds is his first novel.
